THE PROBLEM
No more hunting through spreadsheets, group texts and phone calls to understand the next shift.
See the department schedule, assignments and events together.
Keep open shifts and officer requests in one review process.
Readable hours, leave and holiday credit in a professional PDF.
BUILT AROUND YOUR DAILY WORK
Plan recurring patrol shifts, manage time off and prepare readable hours records with rules that fit your agency.
Bring full-time, part-time, Chief and School Resource Officer assignments into one calendar, with recurring schedules and seasonal SRO participation.
Set department staffing requirements, review patrol coverage gaps and document permitted exceptions before releasing a schedule.
Run monthly selections with management review or automatic assignment. For targeted coverage, invite groups or individuals to express interest, then choose an officer.
Review leave and call-offs alongside staffing needs. Other officers see Out and the affected times; reasons and leave choices stay private. Keep planned leave separate from completed leave used.
Completed scheduled shifts count automatically when enabled. Record late arrival, early departure, call-offs or additional work, then choose overtime payout or comp before timesheet submission.
Review hours, finalize department-branded timesheets and download PDFs for payroll. WatchLine documents hours; payroll calculates pay.
WHEN THE PLAN CHANGES
Document late arrival, early departure, call-offs and stay-over work. Review uncovered time and arrange replacement coverage. Officers can acknowledge required assignments; acknowledgment does not record hours worked.
Shared events let departments invite another active WatchLine department to help staff a specific event. The invited department accepts before its officers can respond. Attendance does not create a regular shift or timesheet entry; completed work is documented through the hours workflow.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
How scheduling, hours and department access work in WatchLine.
Yes. Officers can use the mobile website and add WatchLine to their Home Screen. It uses the same authorized account and department access. Phone alerts are optional, require device permission, and are being tested in the protected preview; department delivery remains paused before launch.
After an approved department is prepared and its setup checklist is confirmed, Chief explicitly starts the 30-day clock. Preparation alone does not use pilot days. No card is required, and the pilot does not automatically become a paid subscription. At expiry, operational changes are blocked while authorized viewing and exports remain available.
Small law-enforcement departments that need one place for schedules, open shifts, leave and hours documentation. Full-time, part-time, SRO and command assignments can be managed together.
Yes. Department settings cover shift templates, staffing requirements, pickup order and response windows. Administrators can change SRO participation when school assignments or summer schedules change.
Management prepares monthly selections with configurable turn lengths and limits. Officers submit their selections or Pass; submission starts the next turn. Monthly assignments can require management review or take effect automatically. For targeted coverage, selected groups or individuals express interest and management chooses an officer.
Shift bids collect choices for future recurring assignments in hire-date order. Equal hire dates require a Admin decision. The actual Chief is excluded by roster rank. An otherwise eligible officer with delegated Chief application access can still bid; application access does not change roster rank.
Other officers see Out and the affected times. The affected officer and authorized Admin/Chief reviewers can see private reasons and leave details. Saving a planned leave choice does not record leave used; after the absence ends, the officer records the leave actually used, or confirms no paid leave used.
For targeted coverage, your opening shows your own approval or declined result privately. An assignment approved as a draft still awaits schedule publication; it appears on your calendar after management publishes it. Monthly selections follow their configured review or automatic assignment process.
No. WatchLine documents hours for payroll. Regular hours, overtime payout, overtime comp, holiday credit and leave used are shown separately. Payroll handles rates, pay calculations and applicable payroll rules.
Yes. Officers enter the hours they want paid out and the hours they want added to comp. Their split must match the recorded overtime hours.
A revised version goes through review and Admin or Chief finalization. The original finalized version stays in history. Finalized timesheets can be downloaded as PDFs, with department branding.
Yes. Chief can review submitted hours and finalize a timesheet without waiting for a separate Admin review.
Officer access to timesheets is limited to their own records. Authorized Admin and Chief accounts can review department hours. Department access and role permissions are enforced by the application.
Every listed plan includes the WatchLine feature set, standard support and software updates. Pricing is based on every active roster record, including personnel without a login or scheduled shift. Annual pricing covers 12 months for the price of 10; departments with more than 75 personnel need a custom arrangement.
WatchLine is currently in preview. Subscription purchases and public enrollment are closed. Contact us to discuss your department or arrange a demonstration. An approved 30-day agency pilot is planned with no credit card required.
No. WatchLine focuses on scheduling and hours documentation. Do not use it to store case files, evidence or criminal-justice records. Security and contractual requirements should be reviewed with your department before adopting any new software.
